Dr.in Sandra Harner

Sandra Harner is co-founder and vice president of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. She graduated with a doctorate in psychology from Fordham University, has served on the faculties of the University of California at Berkeley and the State University of New York, and has conducted field research with various indigenous peoples since 1964. She worked with Michael Harner to develop Core Shamanism and "Harner Shamanic Counseling" (HSC).

Formerly the Director of Health Research at the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, Sandra has been studying the effects of shamanic journeying and drumming on health, particularly the psyche and immune system, since 1988. She has published groundbreaking studies and papers on the subject.
